

A partner of IVF Michigan, Dr. Ayers has been the recipient of numerous grants dedicated to research in the field of infertility and reproductive endocrinology. In addition to his medical school teaching responsibilities, he has shared his knowledge nationally with more than 45 guest lectures presented over the course of his career. He has been honored for this knowledge and his skill as an educator by receiving numerous awards including: the Howard Williams Teaching Award from St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ann Arbor, Michigan; The Speculum Award--Outstanding Faculty Teaching, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University of Michigan; Chief Resident Teaching Award, University of Michigan, 1981, 1987, and 1999; The Bronze Beeper-University of Michigan Medical School Resident Teaching Award
A graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School, Dr. Ayers also completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Michigan. Following that, he completed a fellowship in the university’s Division of Reproductive Endocrinology.
In addition to his role at IVF Michigan, he is a Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University of Michigan Medical Center, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Dr. Ayers has published over 35 journal articles, and over 30 scientific abstracts. He has contributed to two books, and a variety of audio-visual, educational materials.
